NoDa/Midwood Located 2 miles north of Uptown is the NoDa Arts District. Short for "North Davidson," this area is Charlotte's little version of New York's SoHo. With an intentional artsy and bohemian feel, NoDa hosts some of the area's best art galleries, restaurants, unique shopping, coffee shops, and live music venues. Be sure to check out the monthly gallery crawls and street festivals. Here you will find a mix of lofts located among and above the shops of Davidson Street, along with townhomes, bungalow homes, and condos. Connected to NoDa is Midwood offering a similar vibe and eclectic mix of living and entertainment options. Dilworth South of "Historic South End" is Dilworth. With a history dating back to the 1890's, this is a historic and charming neighborhood of bungalow homes, parks, shops, and restaurants that stretches along East Blvd. And more recently, condo development is adding to the density of the area, which also helps attract more shopping and dining options. Quaint tree lined streets, large parks (Freedom and Latta), boutique shopping, and great dining make this area a great alternative to the hustle and bustle of the Center City.
